Margaret-Mary Wintle
Born and raised on the bayside of Melbourne, Australia, Margaret-Mary Wintle is the proud mother of four and grandmother of ten.
Margaret-Mary spent the majority of her career teaching in both primary and secondary schools across Melbourne. Aside from a fulfilling decade as a stay at home mother, she dedicated herself to education, specialising in English, History, and Geography. Additionally, she taught Italian language in a primary school. She had a particular passion for supporting migrant children learning English as a second language, with language acquisition through literature remaining a cornerstone of her teaching philosophy.
From early adulthood, Margaret-Mary has pursued Italian language courses in both Australia and Italy, and has participated in archaeological digs in Val Camonica in Northern Italy. Her love of Italian culture has taken her on extensive travels throughout Italy and across Europe.
Her books, published under the series title Grandma’s Tales, are founded in the imaginative and real stories she has shared with her ten grandchildren. She lives with her husband on the bayside of Melbourne, close to the family she treasures.
